NACEPF's Partnership with buildOn
Building Schools to Break the Cycle of Poverty, Illiteracy, and Low Expectations.
In 2017, NACEPF partnered with buildOn to fund the construction of 10 schools in six developing countries: Burkina Fasu, Nepal, Nicaragua, Haiti, Senegal and Malawi. buildOn is a nonprofit that builds schools in villages that historically have had no adequate school structure ─ where students are squeezed into dark and crumbling mud huts or taught outside only when weather permits, or where students must walk miles to another village or not attend school at all. buildOn's unique model includes an agreement with every member of the community to educate boys and girls in equal numbers and to commit to ending illiteracy for their children, grandchildren, and themselves.
